This triggers additional discounts if you’re a good customer and you can always back out of canceling.įinally, the best way to lower your AT&T often is to go to a different provider. If you did it right, they should offer you a discount of $5-$20 on your account for the next twelve months.Īsk for a supervisor or call again another day to get a call center with more lenient customer discount policies if that didn’t work.Īctually, the Filipino call centers are the most generous.įor the best discounts, call the AT&T loyalty department.Īnother effective strategy is threatening to cancel. One thing that we found works is saying that you’re upset with the taxes and fees that AT&T has included to raise prices for their customers. They’ll be more inclined to help you if you can help them hit their numbers for the day. It’s better to call in the morning because ATT customer support reps have cancellation save scorecards to hit to not get a coaching from their supervisors. Say that you’re thinking of getting a new plan but you want to stay with AT&T if you can get a better deal. Here’s the exact script to use to negotiate your ATT bills and get discounts that aren’t available online or in store. The typical customer saves $10 a month with better insurance although we’ve seen cases where it’s gotten up to $50 a month savings. You can even get a refund on the insurance that you’ve paid in the past. Many times you could have insurance from a cell phone you bought years ago and are overpaying based on the current replacement value of the phone. Cell Phone Insurance SavingsĪnother great opportunity to save money on ATT is to see if you’re paying for cell phone insurance. Right now you can save $10 per line if you enroll in auto pay and paperless billing. If you don’t know how much you or the other people on your plan have been using, you can ask the representative and they’ll provide you with hotspot usage over the last 3 months.Įnrolling in auto pay and paperless billing is also another useful money savings tactic. You can save a significant amount of money by downgrading your hotspot to one that has 15 gigs of data a month before being throttled. I could go on and on but it’s probably not going to change so I won’t waste anymore of my time. For most clients, we’ve found that the reason why their ATT bill is so high is that they’re overpaying for hotspots.Īn unlimited hotspot can add $15 to your account per line every month. Not to mention the fact that the person I get on the phone is really hard to understand with his heavy Indian accent. is a huge company worth millions and they can’t afford to just hire some more operators to answer the phone? Cmon !?! I have heard that message and sat on hold for at least 30 min ( closer to 50 min) every time I call trying to give them my $$ and every time same thing. But the point of my story and my question is why does it take them so long? In the recording you here 60 times while ur on hold sais “ there is a high volume of callers now “. I know I can also go to the store physically but it’s far From my home and I don’t have transportation. I know that I can set up auto pay with my card but I’m not doing that because I was charged 2x in the same day by mistake and sat on hold for 20 minutes to straighten that out. Also this is not the 1st time that I have waited over 30/45 minutes to pay a bill.

Then I gotta a written warning at work for being late. Which only took about 3 minutes!! I was a actually LATE FOR WORK because of this I was unable to call a cab for a hour due to sitting on hold for 66 minutes. I called the 611 number to PAY A BILL !! GIVING THEM MY MONEY and to make a long story short I was on the hold line for 1 hour and 6 minutes before a customer service rep answered and took my $$ and turned my phone back on.

Yesterday I made a call to “611” to pay some $$ towards my prepaid account so I could use my phone as I had forgotten to pay it the day prior. Can someone please tell me how / why a multi million dollar company ( ) can’t fix there wait time ? This has happen to me several times in the past 6 months and I’m so utterly disappointed with so much so that I will be moving to a different carrier.
